Glamorgan Sign Former Yorkshire Batsman Matt Wood

Glamorgan have announced the signing of former Yorkshire opening batsman Matthew Wood.

Wood was released from Headingley earlier in the season, and the 30-year-old brings added strength to the Welsh side's batting resources.

Matthew Maynard, Glamorgan's Cricket Manager told www.glamorgancricket.com, "We are delighted that Matthew has agreed terms with us. Matthew is a proven performer at the top of the order, and we are very pleased to have signed a player with both that calibre and experience. I'm sure that Matthew will have a positive influence on our squad, and that a number of our younger players will benefit from his experience of playing for, and captaining, Yorkshire."

Wood, 30, has signed a two-year deal with Glamorgan and has 1,423 county championship runs to his name.
