Gloucestershire Search For Home-Grown Fast Bowler

Gloucestershire will be running a fast bowling day at Gerrards Cross Cricket Club and if you think you have what it takes to
bowl fast and become a future professional cricketer why not come along and show us what you’ve got.

This season has already seen 3 former Academy fast bowlers progress and make their First XI debuts for Gloucestershire.

The sessions will consist of you turning up – registering your details – a warm up and then you will be given a chance to show your skills with the ball.

Gloucestershire has been extremely successful both in bringing young players through from its academy and in developing talent from minor counties. Gerrards Cross Cricket Club has two players in the County first team and a further two who are currently in their academy.

If you are coaching a bowler aged 11 to 22 who has the talent to impress Stuart and Owen and would like the opportunity of a professional career please bring them along.

Gloucestershire have announced the signing of Ireland's World Cup hero Kevin O'Brien for the rest of the English domestic season. O'Brien, who has played 58 One-Day Internationals for his country, and enjoyed a spell with Nottinghamshire, starred in the 2011 World Cup when he blasted a 50-ball century to guide Ireland to a three-wicket win over England in a group game in Bangalore.

Gloucestershire have sealed the signing of legendary Sri Lankan off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan on a two-year deal to play Twenty20 cricket. Muralitharan, who will retire from international cricket following the 2011 World Cup, has taken a record 800 Test wickets and to date 519 One-Day International wickets.
