Leicestershire 619 (Cosgrove 188) v
Derbyshire 532-8 (Godleman 141)
County Championship, Division Two, Derby
Centuries from Billy Godleman and Shiv Thakor followed by a 97 from Gary Wilson help Derbyshire respond to Leicestershire's first innings total of 619 with a score of 532 for eight at stumps on day three of the County Championship Division Two clash in Derby.
Derbyshire started the day at 154 for one, trailing Leicestershire by 465 runs. Both Godleman (141) and Thakor (132) added 226 runs for the second wicket with both batsmen completing their respective centuries before lunch on day three.
Even though, double strikes from Clinit Mckay (2-78) and Zak Chappell (3-107) allowed Leicestershire make a brief comeback to restrict Derbyshire to 384 for five, Wilson (97) with his 140-ball knock ensured the home side crossed the 500-run mark.
Wilson, however, missed out on a deserving century by three runs but Derbyshire have reached a position of safety with score reading 532 for eight.
