The 2008 Grenada Cricket Classics will be held on the Caribbean Spice Island between 9 and 16 October, with the main attractions being two 20/20 (limited overs) matches between cricketing legends from England and the West Indies, when great names of the past, such as Allan Lamb, Derek Randall and John Emburey, will do battle against the likes of Joel Garner, Curtly Ambrose, Richie Richardson and ‘The King’, Sir Viv Richards.

While old rivalries will be as strong as ever on the cricket pitch, the Grenada Cricket Classics offers much more than just on-the-field contests. During the seven-day trip, players, fans and partners will be given the opportunity to get together to enjoy all that is great about the Caribbean, with a series of parties and events, as well as free time to relax and to explore the island.

Among the parties will be the much talked about Classics Party at True Blue Bay with live music from Big Bad Dread and the Baldhead, featuring Curtly Ambrose and Richie Richardson. With the chance to dance to reggae music, drink rum punch and rub shoulders with sporting heroes under the stars, it’s a night not to be missed.

The week will also include a traditional sunset beach barbecue as well as a Question and Answer session with the former test stars.

Optional tours around Grenada, trips to the spice farms and rum distilleries, golf and sailing, or jeep hire for exploring this beautiful island independently, can all be arranged.

Working in conjunction with Grenada Sports, specialist tour operator Just Grenada has been appointed to make all travel and accommodation arrangements for Grenada Cricket Classics. Its seven-night trip including return flights with Virgin Atlantic on Thursday 9th October from Gatwick, transfers, bed and breakfast accommodation at the Grand Beach Hotel on Grand Anse Beach, match tickets, tickets and food at two Classics parties is available for £899 per person. Flight, room and hotel upgrades can also be arranged, subject to availability.
