New Zealand batsman Martin Guptill has been ruled out of his country's upcoming tour of Bangladesh in October with finger and ankle injuries.
Guptill fractured his right little finger during the Caribbean Premier League, where he had helped the Guyana Amazon Warriors reach the final.
He will not require surgery on the finger but would be out of action for between three and five weeks. However, Guptill will undergo surgery on a long-standing ankle injury.
The surgery will rule him out of the tour of Bangladesh although he may be fit to face Sri Lanka later in the year.
New Zealand will name their Test squad to tour Bangladesh on Friday 6th September.
