Hampshire Delight At Tremlett Selection

Hampshire Cricket is delighted that ChrisTremlett has returned to the England One Day squad. Having been selected to tour Pakistan, in winter 2005, injury prevented him from taking any part in the campaign. Since this disappointment Tremlett has worked his way back to full fitness and is hopeful that he will have no further setbacks. Reports received by the Club from the National Academy based in Perth, where Tremlett has been training over winter, have been extremely promising and we hope that he gets an opportunity to play in Australia in the New Year. His father Tim Tremlett, Director of Cricket at Hampshire stated: “I am delighted and extremely proud of all his cricketing achievements. I’m looking forward to watching and enjoying his future progress.” Bruce Reid, Hampshire’s bowling coach, has been working on Tremlett’s technical development whilst Shane Warne, his captain, has been instrumental in making him a more aggressive bowler. All the coaching staff at the Club should be applauded in overseeing Tremlett’s rise through the ranks from his early days as a 16 year old in the Hampshire Academy.
