England batsman Michael Lumb has joined Dimitri Mascarenhas and Nic Pothas on Hampshire's injury list and he too will play no further part in their season after fracturing a foot.

He sustained the injury on day three of the LV= County Championship match against Somerset at Taunton and after scans, it was revealed that he will be unable to play for another six weeks, effectively ending his domestic season there and then.

Lumb, who opened the batting during England's ICC World Twenty20 success, and had recently returned to form for Hampshire following a spell out of the side, will also therefore miss Hampshire's bid to become Friends Provident t20 champions at The Rose Bowl, their home ground, this weekend.

Hampshire have confirmed that although Dominic Cork and Sean Ervine left the field during the same match, the pair are expected to play during finals day on Saturday (14th August).
