Hampshire have signed South African fast bowler Kyle Abbott as the club's overseas player for the 2014 season.
Abbott has played Test, One-Day and Twenty20 International cricket for South Africa and will join up with Hampshire in time for their second LV= County Championship match of the season, against Gloucestershire, which begins on 13th April.
"To have a bowler of Kyle's quality available for the entire 2014 campaign is a huge boost to the squad," Giles White, Hampshire Director of Cricket said.
"He comes highly recommended both as a player and a person and we look forward to him joining up with the squad in April."
His record speaks for itself with 165 first-class wickets at 21.9, and bowling averages of 28 and 25 in one-day and Twenty20 cricket.
He made his Test debut for South Africa against Pakistan in March 2013, taking seven for 29 to bowl South Africa to an innings win, going on to also play two ODIs and a Twenty20 International.
"It’s been a long time ambition of mine to play county cricket and I have heard great things about Hampshire," Abbott said.
"I am excited about the opportunity and am grateful that Cricket South Africa has given me permission to play, subject to my Dolphins and South African commitments.
"I look forward to meeting up with the Hampshire team in early April and hopefully I can contribute to some good wins."
