Hampshire Squad Announced For Crucial Surrey Match

On Wednesday 13th June Hampshire face Surrey at The Rose Bowl in their last qualifying match to clinch a semi-final place in the Friends Provident Trophy Series.

Hampshire pipped Kent by just 2 runs in a dramatic FPTS clash at Tunbridge Wells on Sunday to go top of the Southern Conference table with 12 points.

Hampshire will secure a home semi-final match on Wednesday 20th June if they are victorious in tomorrow’s crucial clash. Victory in the semi-finals would lead Hampshire to the FPTS final at Lord’s.

The Hampshire 1st XI Squad announced today:

CC Benham, MC Carberry, SR Clark, JP Crawley, SM Ervine, GA Lamb, MJ Lumb, AD Mascarenhas, +N Pothas, BV Taylor, CT Tremlett, SD Udal, *SK Warne

Warne has led Hampshire to four wins and a draw in the last five Friends Provident matches.

Tim Tremlett, Director of Cricket made the following comment ahead of tomorrow’s exciting match:

“Shane Warne is in tremendous form and following Sunday’s tense finish at Tunbridge Wells is very much looking forward to tomorrows match.”

Paul Terry, Team Manager added:

“We’re in a good place ahead of this match, it’s where we’d like to be, only one game away from a very important home semi-final. The team is ready!”
