Hampshire Squad Pre Season Injury Update

This Sunday Hampshire play their first home match of the new season against Middlesex in the Friends Provident Trophy Series.

Michael Carberry and Chris Tremlett have injury concerns at the start of the season.

Both First XI players are receiving treatment from Hampshire Cricket Physiotherapist, Andrew Nealon.

Andrew Nealon made the following comments on the player’s current state of fitness.

Michael Carberry:

“Michael is undergoing an intensive rehabilitation programme to overcome a niggling persistent injury. His success last season meant enough batting to develop this problem & his England A representation over the winter meant he hasn’t had time to beat the injury just yet. A decision was made with Michael’s best interests at heart to allow him the time he needs now so he can perform at 100% on his return, for himself and for our Club. His program is all going to plan and we look forward to Michael being fully fit and returning to the team in mid-May.”

Chris Tremlett:

“Chris is working extremely hard to overcome the lower back injury he sustained on the tour to Australia. At present we are unable to specify a time frame for his return but we are confident that he will make a successful return to the side in the near future.”
