Hassan Adnan Released By Derbyshire

Derbyshire batsman Hassan Adnan has left the club having not been offered a new contract for 2008. The 33-year-old has played 65 first-class matches for the club scoring 3678 runs at an average of 35.36 since making his debut in 2003. In 2004 he scored 1380 first-class runs at an average of 51.11 but he has not managed to hit the same heights of consistency since and in 2007 he averaged 21 in his 11 first-class appearances. As a former capped player, Adnan has been awarded Honorary Life Membership of the club. Head of Cricket John Morris said: "It is never a nice time informing players that they have to go especially when it is such a loyal servant and great team man as Hassan has been to Derbyshire." © Derbyshire CCC
