Hick Captures Monthly Sky Sports Sixes Prize

Worcestershire's Graeme Hick hit more sixes in June than any other player in one-day domestic cricket, landing him the monthly prize in the Sky Sports Sixes League.

Hick cleared the ropes 13 times last month, including eight in his 110 against Northants, more than any other batsman. The big-hitting also propelled him into second place overall, behind leader David Hussey on balls faced.

There has been significant movement in the League this week thanks to the big-hitting Twenty20 Cup.

Last year’s winner Somerset’s Cameron White makes his debut on this season’s table, moving into eighth thanks to six maximums against Glamorgan, while the likes of Mark Ramprakash, Mal Loye and Brad Hodge all added to their season's totals in the past week.

The Sky Sports Sixes League, sponsored by the Daily Express, ranks the top ten batsmen that have hit the most sixes in Friends Provident, Twenty20 Cup and NatWest Pro40 matches. It provides batsmen with another incentive for big-hitting with £2,000 and the sixes trophy for the winner, plus awards for each month’s big hitter. David Hussey won the award for May.

The league has become a hugely popular element of Sky’s cricket coverage, with league table is featured on Sky’s domestic cricket coverage, Cricket AM and on skysports.com/sixes. It is also published each Wednesday in Daily Express.
