Himley Ready For Twenty20 Cricket

Himley CC is ready to host Thursday's Worcester Royals' Twenty20 clash with Glamorgan Dragons with New Road still being cleaned up after the recent flooding.

The Royals need to win both remaining games to give themselves the best possible chance of making the quarter-finals of the competition after they beat Somerset Sabres by three wickets yesterday.

Himley, 10 miles north of Kidderminster, is prepared for the game with car parking, catering and limited seating available for spectators.

Worcestershire County Cricket Club are urging ticket-holders and members alike to show their support in this match.

"As with Kidderminster we need a degree of understanding from the spectators but the atmosphere at the previous games at Kidderminster was excellent and nobody was turned away. We hope around 2,000 people will turn up and support the team in this vital match.

"The Himley CC officials have gone out of their way to help us stage this match so the delivery of a victory would be the perfect thank you," Chief Executive Mark Newton said in a statement.

Worcestershire currently lie in third place in the Mid/West/Wales division, with 6 points.
