Wavell Hinds is reportedly set to announce his retirement from regional and international cricket, having already told his Jamaican team-mates of his decision after the Stanford 20/20 final in Antigua.

According to a report on caribbeancricket.com, itself citing a report from Radio Jamaica, the left-handed opening batsman looks to have signed a deal to play for the Indian Cricket League (ICL) and has been dropped by Jamaica for their opening Carib Beer Cup game.

He is due to play county cricket for Derbyshire this season, and the 31-year-old played in 45 Tests and 114 One Day Internationals for his country.

Jamaica lost the 2008 Stanford final by nine wickets against Trinidad & Tobago, their opponents for the opening Carib Beer Cup series.

Hinds last played for his country in Tests in 2005.
