Hiscox Launch Cricket Club Insurance

Specialist insurer Hiscox has launched a niche insurance policy designed to cater for the bespoke needs of UK Cricket Clubs.

The new product, ClubCricketCover, is available from 18 February 2013 through sports insurance broker, Mead Sport and Leisure Limited ("Mead").

Lee Turner, National Schemes Manager at Hiscox said: “Hiscox is known for specialist insurance and its customer-centric approach to product innovation. Cricket clubs have specific needs which perhaps other insurance companies might find difficult to understand or too challenging. Working in conjunction with Mead we’ve been able to bring to market a very special product which will make a difference to cricket clubs across the UK.”

Keith Letchford, Commercial Director at Mead, said: “We’ve been providing insurance to cricket clubs for many years and see the introduction of a bespoke policy, developed in collaboration with the experts at Hiscox, as a real positive for our clients.”

ClubCricketCover provides cover for standard risks such as Public and Products Liability and Employers Liability. Additional cover can be added to the policy for other risks including Directors & Officers Liability.  The policy, designed with the advice and support of cricketers, covers an extensive range of risks particular to the grounds, premises and use of a cricket club, such as damage to insured outbuildings, club houses, changing rooms, pitches, squares, stands scoreboards and floodlights.

All new business and administration enquiries will be handled by Mead staff who have a strong knowledge of cricket and the challenges UK cricket clubs face when looking for insurance protection.  Insurance can be purchased directly, and exclusively, from Mead.

There were no positive results in the opening weekend of the Saracens Hertfordshire Cricket League but Totteridge Milhillians sit on top of the table with 17 points. Old Finchleians come next with 16 and St Albans are third with 11.
Teddington and Finchley top the early 2013 Middlesex ECB Premier League after winning their opening matches against Richmond and Eastcote. Eastcote were subsequently docked 10 points for fielding an understrength team, which nevertheless only went down by one wicket.
