Matthew Hoggard has been named in England's 12-man squad for the third and final Test against Sri Lanka, which will start two hours later than scheduled after more rain hampered preparations in Galle.

ICC match referee took the decision to delay the start after ground staff had battled hard enough to get the pitch ready only to see another deluge of rain hit the ground, rebuilt after the devastating tsunami of 2004.

England's squad also includes Graeme Swann as a second spinning option with Hoggard's fitness still being assessed. He missed the second match, which was drawn, with a back injury.

England have made no decision as yet about their final line up, captain Michael Vaughan telling reporters, "It's amazing how much the pitch can change in 24 hours in conditions here - yesterday it was completely green and today it is brown and barren."

Sri Lanka won the first Test in Kandy by 88 runs and lead the series 1-0.
