Queensland all-rounder James Hopes has been added to Australia's squad for the second and third One-Day Internationals against Pakistan in Sydney and Adelaide.

Hopes was originally named only in a 12-man squad for the opening game in Brisbane but following Queensland's failure to qualify for the KFC Twenty20 Big Bash final, he has been added to the squad for the second match in Sydney on 24th January and the third match in Adelaide on 26th January.

"Cricket Australia's National Selection Panel (NSP) today confirmed all-rounder James Hopes has been added to Australia's squad for the second Commonwealth Bank one-day international against Pakistan in Sydney on Sunday," a board statement read.

"This squad of 13 players has also been confirmed as the squad which will travel to Adelaide for the third match of the Commonwealth Bank Series on Tuesday. The NSP will re-assess the squad after this third game in Adelaide."

Australia ODI squad: Ricky Ponting (captain), Michael Clarke (vice-captain), Doug Bollinger, Brad Haddin, Nathan Hauritz, James Hopes, Michael Hussey, Shaun Marsh, Clint McKay, Peter Siddle, Adam Voges, Shane Watson, Cameron White
