Hundreds Of Troops Heading To Edgbaston

Warwickshire County Cricket Club has continued their generous contribution to Tickets For Troops for the England v India npower series following their triumph at Trent Bridge. Hundreds of troops will be at Edgbaston on the first four days of the test to see the team attempt to mirror the success of last week.

The match proves to be exciting as it will provide the opportunity to see Andrew Strauss lead the team to victory not just of the test but of the series. If England triumph at Edgbaston it will make them the number one team in the world, overtaking India.

Tickets For Troops Chairman, Lord Marland said: "Tickets For Troops has benefited from a great wave of generosity from our ticket donors who have wanted to demonstrate their support and show their appreciation for the dedication and commitment of the marvellous men and women of our Armed Forces. I would like to thank Warwickshire CCC for their kind and fantastic support in contributing these tickets."

Thanks to the support of many organisations Tickets For Troops has been able to give provide free tickets to a wide range of events which have recently included Rod Stewart concerts and the Community Shield at Wembley.

The charity was set up in 2009 to provide members of the Armed Forces with free tickets for major music, sporting, and cultural events including football, cricket, rugby and theatre performances. Since launching it has provided over 260,000 tickets and almost 100,000 troops have registered on the website - www.ticketsfortroops.org.uk

This initiative has attracted maximum support from a host of Patrons, including Steven Gerrard MBE, Freddie Flintoff MBE, and James Blunt.

Tickets For Troops Patron Sir Ian Botham said: "Let’s get behind our troops, let’s give them some support and lets show them just how much we appreciate the dangerous job they do for us."
