Hussey And Hauritz Set Pakistan 278 To Win In Perth

Australia 277-8 (Hussey 67, Hauritz 53no) v Pakistan

Fourth One-Day International, Perth

Michael Hussey and Nathan Hauritz scored half-centuries as Australia scored 277 for eight in the fourth One-Day International against Pakistan in Perth.

Hussey made 67 and Hauritz an unbeaten 53 in 39 balls to help Australia recover from losing early wickets to power towards a competitive total.

After deciding to bat, Australia, who are already 3-0 up in the five-match series, lost Shaun Marsh (12), Shane Watson (30), Ricky Ponting (32) and Michael Clarke (10) to fall to 110 for four before Hussey, in partnership with Cameron White, who made 44, began to get the innings back on track.

Off-spinner Saeed Ajmal dismissed both White and Hussey and although James Hopes became Mohammad Asif's third victim for 16, Hauritz smashed one four and four sixes as Australia used the batting Power Play to good effect to set Pakistan a stiff target.

Asif returned three for 42 with Ajmal taking two for 55.
