MG7 Crowned Phuket International Cricket Sixes Champions
Finals day of the 9th Phuket International Cricket Sixes was played under glorious sunshine at the Kata Group Sports Ground in Chalong, Thailand. The twenty-four teams competing in the ICC award winning tournament were ranked one to twenty-four and placed in Cup, Bowl, Plate and Spoon divisions following the completion of Round One.
12 Teams Confirmed For Kata Group International 7s Tournament
Organisers of the ACST Phuket Cricket Week confirmed that twelve teams would contest the first ever Kata Group International Cricket 7s, the new annual cricket tournament being held in Phuket from 14-16th April 2012.
ACST Phuket Cricket Week Has New Venue
Organisers of the ACST Cricket Week confirmed today that a new home venue had been confirmed for the award winning series of cricket events taking place in Phuket, Thailand from 14 - 22 April. Tournament Director, Mr Saurav Chatterjee, of organisers the Asian Cricket Sixes Tour commented, "Karon Municipal Council recently withdrew the availability of Karon Stadium, where we have staged the Phuket International Cricket Sixes since 2004, due to the forthcoming Thailand Youth Games in May.
Greg Campbell Named As PNG General Manager
Cricket PNG is glad to announce former Australian Cricketer Greg Campbell as the General Manager of Cricket PNG, taking over from the departure of Bill Leane. Greg has been with Cricket PNG for over 12 months now and steps up from his former role as Cricket PNG Operations Manager.
Shyam Bhatia Cricket For Care Provides Support For Children In Japan
On Monday November 21st, a large truck pulled up at the office of the Japan Cricket Association. The truck delivered 250 sets of plastic cricket equipment donated by Mr Shyam Bhatia of Shyam Bhatia Cricket for Care. Following the devastating earthquake and tsunami on March 11th 2011, the Japan Cricket Association set up "Cricket for Smiles" in aid of the victims.
Sano CC Wins SriLankan Airlines Japan Cup
Sano Cricket Club has won the second annual Srilankan Airlines Japan Cup which was held from 8th to 10th October. The three day Twenty20 national championship was played at Fuji Cricket Ground with five teams vying for the title. Sano Cricket Club qualified to play in the championship by winning the North Kanto qualifying tournament.
