
The International Cricket Council (ICC) Technical Committee has given Pakistan the go ahead to replace Shoaib Akhtar with Iftikhar Anjum in their ICC World Twenty20 squad.
Shoaib was declared unfit by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) last week and Iftikhar, who formed part of the squad which finished second in 2007, will take his place in the squad.
Shoaib was also ruled out of the 2007 tournament, sent home after an altercation involving Mohammad Asif and his career has been blighted by injuries and controversial incidents.
Iftikhar has played one Test, 58 One Day Internationals and one Twenty20 International, that coming in a warm-up match against Kenya in 2007.
The tournament gets underway on 5th June and Pakistan are in Group B alongside hosts England and qualifiers the Netherlands.
