Leg-spinner Imran Tahir has been withdrawn from South Africa's squad for the fourth and final Test against England in Johannesburg.

Cricket South Africa have confirmed that the former Pakistan A player is not yet eligible to play for South Africa meaning the squad is reduced to 14 players.

Lahore-born Tahir will eventually qualify to play for the Proteas due to his marriage to a South African, although sources claiming that his residency had been completed by April of last year have now been proved to be incorrect.

South Africa: Graeme Smith (captain), Hashim Amla, Mark Boucher, AB de Villiers, Friedel de Wet, JP Duminy, Paul Harris, Jacques Kallis, Ryan McLaren, Morne Morkel, Wayne Parnell, Alviro Petersen, Ashwell Prince, Dale Steyn
