India will tour Sri Lanka shortly to play five One Day Internationals and a Twenty20 International as they attempt to recoup losses after a tour to Pakistan was cancelled and two ODIs against England were lost in the wake of the Mumbai terror attacks.

"The itinerary of the tour will be finalised and released in a couple of days," the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a statement.

India toured Sri Lanka last year, beating them 3-2 in a One Day International series and after they lost $25 million due to the above cancellations, the board has been keen to arrange more fixtures, also asking for another Test to be added to their March and April tour of New Zealand.
