India 304-3 (Kohli 108, Gambhir 100) beat
Sri Lanka 254 (Jayawardene 78) by 50 runs
Asia Cup 2012, Mirpur
Scorecard
Twin centuries from Gautam Gambhir and Virat Kohli laid the foundations for India's 50-run win over Sri Lanka in both sides' opening group game in the Asia Cup in Mirpur.
Gambhir stroked 108 and Kohli 100 as India made their way to 304 for three before bowling Sri Lanka out for 254 in reply.
Four wickets from Irfan Pathan as well as three apiece from Ranganath Vinay Kumar and Ravichandran Ashwin meant half-centuries from Mahela Jayawardene (78) and Kumar Sangakkara (65) were in vain.
Sri Lanka meet Pakistan on Thursday (15th February) and India take on hosts Bangladesh one day later.
