Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard have not been included in the West Indies' squad to play five One-Day Internationals in New Zealand due to injury.

Gayle suffered a hamstring injury during the first ODI in India last month and Pollard is recovering from a knee problem.

Fast bowler Kemar Roach, who returned from India without playing a match due to a long-standing shoulder injury, is also left out.

Veerasammy Permaul has been replaced in the squad that lost the ODI series in India 2-1 with left-arm spinner Nikita Miller while Kirk Edwards effectively replaces Gayle.

The 15-man squad will assemble in New Zealand on 21st December with the ODI specialists joining the Test players also selected.

Prior to that, the ODI specialists - Johnson Charles, Dwayne Bravo, Jason Holder, Nikita Miller, Ravi Rampaul and Lendl Simmons - will take part in a training camp in Barbados.

The first ODI is in Auckland on 26th December with the remaining matches are hosted by Napier, Queenstown, Nelson before the final game in Hamilton on 8th January 2014.
