England have suffered a double injury blow ahead of the third One-Day International against Bangladesh with the news that Stuart Broad is a likely non-starter and that Ryan Sidebottom is to fly home.
Broad picked up a back injury during the second match and did not bat while Sidebottom had already been ruled out of the rest of the ODI series with a thigh injury.
The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed that Sidebottom would be replaced by all-rounder Tim Bresnan in England's Test squad while Ajmal Shahzad could make his debut as a replacement for Broad in the third and final ODI with Durham's Liam Plunkett another option. Middlesex's Steven Finn is also set to join up with the Test squad as cover in Bangladesh.
Both Broad and fellow fast bowler Graham Onions will undergo MRI scans ahead of the Test series.
England lead the ODI series 2-0 after six and two-wicket victories in Mirpur while the third game takes place in Chittagong on 5th March.
