
The United Arab Emirates began their preparations for next months' ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier by beating Uganda by eight wickets in Dubai in the first Twenty20, before they held on win a thriller by two runs one day later.
In game one, Uganda made their way to 119 for seven before UAE chased down their target of 120 with four overs and one ball to spare.
Arthur Kyobe top scored for Uganda with 31 while Roger Mukasa made 29 and Benjamin Musoke 22 with Fayyaz Ahmed taking three for 22 and Qadar Nawaz two for 29.
In reply, UAE lost openers Mohammad Iqbal and Arfan Haider, both men caught by Laurence Ssemanda off the bowling of Dennis Tabby for 11 before unbeaten innings of 44 from Saqib Ali and 46 in 40 balls from Khurram Khan ensured that the UAE took victory with plenty to spare.
The two sides met again and UAE reached 112 for seven in Dubai, opener Arfan Haider top scoring with 20, before Uganda were bowled out for 110 despite Benjamin Musoke's 31 as Qasim Zubair, Moiz Shahid and Ahmed Raza.
