Victorian White, who will have Western Australia's Adam Voges as his deputy, takes charge of a squad which includes a number of players who have international experience and some promising youngsters.
“The NSP has, with view to the future of Australian cricket, selected a very young squad to play both the four-day and one-day games," National Selection Panel Chairman Andrew Hilditch said.
“The selection recognises the performances of these young talented players in the domestic season last year whilst concentrating on those players we have identified as having the ability to play a significant role in the development of Australian cricket in the future.
“Following the four-day matches in Townsville, Ryan Broad, Michael Klinger and Burt Cockley will leave the squad and Warner, Henriques and Tait will come in.
“Our focus on the one-day matches is to take the opportunity to look at players with a view to our preparation for the 2011 ICC World Cup in the subcontinent.
“Cameron White will captain the side in both the four-day and limited overs matches. Cameron has experienced both Test and limited overs cricket at the highest level and has been a very good leader for Victoria, which includes captaining the recent Weet-Bix Sheffield Shield final winning team.
“The NSP is very happy with this squad and we look forward to following the team’s progress throughout the series in Queensland.”
