Cricket Victoria have unveiled West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo as their overseas player for the 2009/10 KFC Twenty20 Big Bash campaign.
Three-times champions Victoria have recruited the 25-year-old Trinidad & Tobago and Mumbai Indians star to bolster their Twenty20 squad after they lost out to New South Wales in last year's final.
Bravo has played 31 Tests, 95 One-Day Internationals and 13 Twenty20 Internationals for the West Indies.
“Dwayne is a proven performer in all forms of the game – particularly in Twenty20 cricket – and in addition to strengthening the team, we’re confident he’ll prove a big drawcard,” Victoria's Chief Executive Tony Dodemaide said.
“Cricket Australia has provided strong encouragement and support for states to recruit international players and there’s little doubt the addition of cricketers like Dwayne will make the Big Bash an even bigger bash.”
Victoria have also given two-year contract extensions to coach Greg Shipperd and his assistant, Simon Helmot.
