The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed that Abdul Razzaq can replace Yasir Arafat in Pakistan's ICC World Twenty20 squad.

Yasir Arafat picked up a hamstring injury during Pakistan's 48-run loss to England and Razzaq becomes the first former Indian Cricket League (ICL) player to be welcomed back into international cricket.

Having renounced his ICL contract, and been granted permission to return by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Razzaq is eligible to play international cricket once again.

“The PCB has advised the ICC it has imposed a sanction on Abdul Razzaq in accordance with the ICC Board resolution," ICC CEO Haroon Lorgat confirmed.

Pakistan take on Sri Lanka on Friday in their first Super Eight match.

Razzaq played 46 Tests, 227 One Day Interantionals and 2 Twenty20 Internationals before he signed to play in the ICL, where he represented the Hyderabad Heroes.
