England wicket-keeper Matthew Prior has been named as the Cricket World® Player Of The Week after a fluent half-century set up a 58-run win in the third and final One Day International against the West Indies at Edgbaston.
Prior stroked 87 in 86 balls, building on a superb start and his career-best effort, which included five boundaries, helped England score an ODI ground record score of 328 for seven.
Prior then took a fine catch, diving away to his right, to dismiss Denesh Ramdin as England sealed a 2-0 series win to complete a successful start to their summer.
Not included in England's ICC World Twenty20 squad, Prior, who injured a finger during the second Test against the West Indies at The Riverside, will now enjoy some rest ahead of the Ashes, which begin on 8th July in Cardiff.
Other contenders for the weekly award were his team-mates Owais Shah, Andrew Strauss and Anderson.
