Royal Challengers Bangalore 86-1 (Dravid 35no) beat
Deccan Chargers 82 (Kumble 4-16, Kallis 2-3) by nine wickets
Indian Premier League 3rd/4th play-off, Mumbai
Scorecard
The Royal Challengers booked their second appearance at the Twenty20 Champions League courtesy of a thumping nine-wicket win over the Deccan Chargers in the 2010 Indian Premier League third/fourth place play-off in Mumbai.
Captain Anil Kumble took four for 16 as reigning champions Deccan Chargers were bowled out for just 82 in 18.3 overs and the Challengers, who were last year's runners-up, eased to their victory target inside 14 overs.
The Chargers won the toss and chose to bat first but were soon in the mire when openers Adam Gilchrist (4) and Mohnish Mishra (0) departed cheaply and wickets continued to tumble throughout their innings.
Anirudh Singh hit 40 in 39 balls and Yalaka Vanugopal Rao 24 in 27 as the other nine batsmen failed to even reach double figures, Rohit Sharma, Rahul Sharma and Pragyan Ojhal all failing to score.
Man-of-the-match Kumble dismissed Gilchrist, Mishra, Dwayne Smith (5) and Ryan Harris (3) while Jacques Kallis finished off the innings with a spell of two for three by removing Anirudh and Rahul Sharma.
Praveen Kumar also took two wickets and there was one apiece for Dale Steyn and Nayan Doshi.
In reply, the Challengers were never headed despite losing the wicket of Kallis, who scored 19 before he was caught and bowled by Rahul Sharma.
Rahul Dravid (35) and Kevin Pietersen (29) then steered the Challengers home with 37 balls to spare, Pietersen winning the game by hammering Ojha for a six.
The Mumbai Indians wilmeet the Chennai Super Kings in the final.
