Indian Premier League, Mumbai
Scorecard

Kieron Pollard produced his best Indian Premier League performance to date to inspire the Mumbai Indians to a comprehensive 39-run win over the Delhi Daredevils.

The Mumbai Indians have already qualified for the semi-finals and the result did the Daredevils' chances of joining them few favours as they were held to 144 for seven in reply to Mumbai's 183 for four.

Pollard lit up proceedings at the end of Mumbai's innings, hammering two fours and five sixes in an explosive innings of 45 not out in just 13 balls that helped Mumbai add 75 runs in the final five overs of their innings.

Saurabh Tiwary (38) and Sachin Tendulkar (30) had earlier set their side up for a competitive score but Pollard's effort ensured it was a winning one.

In reply, David Warner blasted 31 in 15 balls and Gautam Gambhir 17 in nine but the Daredevils quickly lost ground as they lost wickets, left-arm spinner Ali Murtaza marking his second IPL appearance with two for 18 in an outstanding spell while pacer Dilhara Fernando returned two two for 32.

Pollard completed his fine day with two runs outs and an economical spell of four overs for 15 runs.
