IPL 2013: Rajasthan Beat Delhi To Go Second
Rajasthan Royals 155-1 (Rahane 63no) beat
Delhi Daredevils 154-4 by nine wickets
Indian Premier League 2012, Jaipur
Half-centuries from Rahul Dravid and Ajinkya Rahane steered Rajasthan Royals to a nine-wicket win over Delhi Daredevils that steered them into second place in the Indian Premier League 2013 table.
Dravid made 53 and Rahane 63 not out as Rajasthan raced to 155 for one in 17.5 overs after Delhi had reached 154 for four in their 20 overs.
Ben Rohrer blasted 64 in 40 deliveries and Mahela Jayawardene 34 in 31 but a wicket apiece from Siddharth Trivedi, James Faulkner, Shane Watson and Stuart Binny ensured the Daredevils were unable to post as big a score as they would have liked after they were reduced to 78 for four.
In reply, Dravid and Rahane had no such worries, each playing some wonderful strokes during 45 and 37-ball half-centuries respectively.
Although Dravid fell when he was caught by Ajit Agarkar off Uday Kaul, there was no respite for the Daredevils, as Watson came in and blasted 28 not out in 14 balls to seal an emphatic win.
