The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set for an emergency meeting on Sunday following yesterday's news that three Rajasthan Royals players are being investigated for suspected spot-fixing during the Indian Premier League 2013.

Shanthakumaran Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila were also suspended by the BCCI while the investigations continue.

Indian news outlets are reporting this morning that both Sreesanth and Chavan have admitted their involvement after being given five-day custodial sentences by the Delhi Police.

However, Sreesanth's lawyer, Deepak Prakash, has told reporters that he believes Sreesanth has been 'falsely and mistakenly' arrested and that he 'is not confessing'.

A fourth player, Gujarat's Amit Singh, a former Rajasthan Royals player, has also been arrested and suspended. 11 bookmakers have also been arrested.

"The President, BCCI, has convened an Emergent Working Committee Meeting at 11:00 am on Sunday," a statement from the BCCI confirmed.

"The Working Committee will discuss, among other things, the fallout of the spot-fixing controversy in the ongoing IPL, in which three players have been arrested by the Delhi Police."

Meanwhile, in a statement released by Cricket Australia, fellow Rajasthan Royals fast bowler Shaun Tait has reiterated that he had no involvement in any spot-fixing.

"Sean Carroll, the Head of CA’s Anti-corruption Unit, has spoken to Shaun Tait following Delhi Police’s statement last night that Tait is not part of their ongoing IPL investigations," CA said.

"Shaun reiterated to CA that he had absolutely no involvement in any of the issues that are currently being investigated.

"CA is comfortable that Shaun is being appropriately supported in India and reminds those who have been speculating on the ongoing investigations to base their comments on known facts, not unsubstantiated rumour."

This is a developing news story and may be updated throughout the day as new information becomes available.
