Delhi Daredevils 166-6 (Sehwag 50, Harbhajan Singh 4-17) beat
Mumbai Indians 158-7 (Rahane 56, Nannes 3-27) by four wickets
Indian Premier League, Centurion Park
The Delhi Daredevils warmed up for their Indian Premier League semi-final with a four-wicket win over the Mumbai Indians at Centurion Park.
Captain Virender Sehwag scored 50 as despite four wickets from compatriot Harbhajan Singh, his side got home with two and a half overs to spare after they had restricted the Indians to 158 for seven.
Ajinkya Rahane played a delightful innings of 56, sharing a 73-run stand for the fourth wicket with his captain Sachin Tendulkar (46) but only two other players managed to reach double figures as the Daredevils kept things tight, preferring to bowl first.
Dirk Nannes bowled another excellent spell, taking three for 27 while Pradeep Sangwan picked up two for 28.
In reply, David Warner thumped 15 in nine balls before he was dismissed, but a 68-run stand between Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir (47 in 38 balls) ensured that the Daredevils were in control.
Sehwag hit five fours and two sixes, and although Harbhajan was twice on a hat-trick, Delhi sealed the match in the 18th over when Amit Mishra smashed JP Duminy for a big six to finish unbeaten on 13 from just four balls.
