Ireland began their preparations for the ICC World Twenty20 2014 Qualifier with a nine-run win over local side Wings XI in Dubai.
It was a far from convincing performance with the bat and it needed Max Sorensen to blast 28 not out in 18 balls to haul them to a score of 121 for nine.
Their bowlers delivered a better performance to dismiss Wings XI for 112 in reply.
William Porterfield also made 22 and James Shannon 18 as the only other batsmen to make starts as former Irish international Peter Connell picked up one of the wickets for Wings XI.
George Dockrell (2-10), Sorensen (2-13), Stuart Thompson (2-15) and Tim Murtagh (2-16) then shared eight wickets to dismiss Wings XI in 18.1 overs.
Kevin O'Brien was the other wicket-taker.
Ireland play Canada, Hong Kong, Italy, Namibia, Uganda, United Arab Emirates and United States of America once the Qualifier gets underway on 15th November.
Beforehand, they will also play the Netherlands on 11th November and Papua New Guinea on 13th November in further warm-ups.
