Cricket Australia (CA) have confirmed that fast bowler Jackson Bird has joined up with Australia's squad ahead of the fourth One-Day International against Sri Lanka.
Ben Cutting had been included as cover for the third game in Brisbane, which Sri Lanka won by four wickets after bowling Australia out for 74, but was subsequently released to play in the Big Bash final.
With Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Johnson having been injury concerns leading into the match, Bird has been added to the squad to offer another quick bowling option ahead of the match in Sydney, which bet365 make Australia 8/15 and Sri Lanka 6/4 to win.
Bird has played two Tests for Australia - both against Sri Lanka earlier in the summer - but is yet to make his ODI debut and has played only seven one-day games for Tasmania in his career to date.
Meanwhile, former international Michael di Venuto, who is now assistant coach of Tasmania and the Hobart Hurricanes, will also join up with the squad as batting coach for the final two matches in Sydney (20th January) and Hobart (23rd January).
Australia ODI squad: Michael Clarke (captain), George Bailey, Jackson Bird, Xavier Doherty, Moises Henriques, Phillip Hughes, David Hussey, Mitchell Johnson, Glenn Maxwell, Clint McKay, Mitchell Starc, Matthew Wade, David Warner
