There was a comfortable win for Jersey and narrower victories for hosts Nepal and favourites the United States of America on day two of the ICC World Cricket League Division Five.
Jersey raced to victory over Fiji, bowling the Asian side out for 122 in 36.2 overs before their openers Matthew Hague and D Morrison both scored 52 on their way to a nine-wicket win which gets them off the mark for the tournament.
Nepal were pushed hard by Singapore, eventually winning by just 16 runs. Nepal made their way to 180 for nine, Basanta Regmi scoring 54 and Singapore, winners on the opening day against Bahrain, fell just short when they were dismissed for 164, Sanjam Regmi taking four wickets.
The USA were also pushed hard by Bahrain, who were beaten by 19 runs. Lennox Cush hit 91 and Steve Massiah 67 to propel the States to a score of 273 for six but hard-charging Bahrain, led by 75 from opener Imran Sajjad, gave USA a good workout before eventually being bowled out for 254 in the 49th over.
