Cricket Ireland have confirmed that Jimmy Joyce has stood down as President due to personal reasons and the remainder of his term will be served by Arthur Vincent.
President-elect Robin Walsh will take over as President from 2013, as scheduled and in line with Cricket Ireland Memorandum and Articles.
This states that Cricket Ireland must have a President and the Board is responsible for ratifying any recommendation. A former President can fulfil the role provided he held office not less than two years previously.
"I am aware of the great difficulty that Jimmy Joyce had in making this decision and he can be assured that he has the utmost respect and support of everyone involved with Cricket Ireland," Chairman Ross McCollum said.
"Arthur Vincent has agreed to fill the vacancy for the remainder of Jimmy’s term and our sincere thanks and gratitude must go to him for taking on what has become a very time-consuming role at such short notice."
