As Ireland will be without William Porterfield, who is on county duty with Gloucestershire, for their ICC Intercontinental Cup clash with Netherlands, which gets underway on 11th August, Trent Johnston will captain their side.

Also missing is wicket-keeper Niall O'Brien, who has recently undergone surgery on a damaged finger, and fast bowler Boyd Rankin, who will be playing for Warwickshire.

Surrey's Gary Wilson has been made available, however, and will take over the gloves in O'Brien's absence.

The same squad was also named for the two One-Day Internationals which follow the four-day match. The four-day game is an important one for both countries as they look to make up ground on leaders Scotland and Afghanistan.

Ireland currently lie in sixth place having picked up 12 points from three matches with the Netherlands one place ahead with 15 points from five matches.

Ireland ICC Intercontinental Cup/ODI squad: Trent Johnston (captain), Alex Cusack, George Dockrell, James Hall, Nigel Jones, John Mooney, Kevin O'Brien, Paul Stirling, Albert van der Merwe, Andrew White, Gary Wilson, Craig Young
