The West Indies have added Jonathan Carter to their One-Day International squad as cover for Kieron Pollard, who is experiencing difficulties in reaching Grenada ahead of Friday's opener against Zimbabwe.
The three-match series gets underway on 22nd February and with Pollard absent, the uncapped Carter offers another big-hitting option in the middle order.
Carter also bowls right-arm medium pace, like Pollard, and in 27 one-day games has scored 572 runs at an average of 27.23 and has featured for West Indies A seven times in the last three years.
Zimbabwe opened their tour by beating a University of West Indies Vice Chancellor's XI by 76 runs. Vusi Sibanda hit 147 and Hamilton Masakadza 56 in a score of 346 for seven. Malcom Waller then took three for eight as the Vice Chancellor's XI, for whom Sarwan scored 90, were bowled out for 270.
West Indies ODI squad: Dwayne Bravo (captain), Tino Best, Darren Bravo, Jonathan Carter, Johnson Charles, Narsingh Deonarine, Sunil Narine, Veersammy Permaul, Kieron Pollard, Kieran Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Kemar Roach, Andre Russell, Ramnaresh Sarwan
