North Group, Natwest T20 Blast, Old Trafford

Jos Buttler scored an unbeaten half-century as he guided Lancashire to a seven wicket win while chasing 128 against Worcestershire in the North Group Natwest T20 Blast at Old Trafford.

Earlier, Lancashire won the toss and decided to bowl first. After a cautious start of 10 for naught in the first two overs, Worcestershire lost Joe Clarke (1) in the third over to Junaid Khan (2-27).

Joe Leach (24) struck two boundaries and a six but fell in the fourth over to Ryan McLaren (1-31) as Worcestershire managed 44 for two in the powerplay.

Daryl Mitchell (16), Brett D'Oliveira (30) and Ben Cox (19) consolidated the innings but they struggled to get going as Worcestershire managed only 127 for eight in the 20 overs.

In the chase, Lancashire lost Jordan Clark (4) in the first over but Liam Livingstone (36) and Aaron Lilley (33) laid a solid platform with a 43 run stand for the second wicket. Lilley was the aggressor among the two as he contributed 33 out of the 43 runs but his innings was cut down by Leach (1-15).

Any chance of a Worcestershire comeback was put off by another 76 run stand for the third wicket between Livingstone and Buttler (52 not out), who stayed till the end and completed the chase in 17.3 overs with seven wickets in hand.
