South Africa batsman JP Duminy has decided to pull out from the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 season due to personal reasons.
Duminy was one of the standout performer for the franchise last season where he scored 191 runs from 10 matches at an average of 38 and overall is the fifth leading run scorer for Delhi Daredevils spread across all the seasons with 1015 runs from 38 matches.
The 32-year-old expressed disappointment on missing out on the action this year and is hopeful of representing Delhi Daredevils again in the coming seasons.
"It has been a very difficult decision for me to make, but it was for purely personal reasons," said Duminy.
"I'm grateful for the support and understanding from the franchise. It has been an absolute privilege to have played for and led a talented mix of players. I certainly hope to play a part for the franchise in the near future."
Delhi Daredevils last entered play-offs in 2012 and managed a sixth position in the previous season. They will kick start the 2017 season with a clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore on 8th April at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
