South Africa speedster Kagiso Rabada has climbed to the third position in the International Cricket Council Rankings for bowlers following his stellar performance in the second Test against Bangladesh in Bloemfontein.
Rabada picked a splendid 10-wicket haul that saw the Proteas bowl out Bangladesh for 147 and 172 in the two innings as they completed an innings victory to seal the series 2-0.
As a result, the 22-year-old has leapfrogged Sri Lanka's Rangana Herath and India's Ravichandran Ashwin to the third position in the rankings that is headed by England seamer James Anderson and followed by Ravindra Jadeja at second.
While there has been no change in the rankings for batsmen, Hashim Amla who struck back to back centuries against Bangladesh in the two Tests has narrowed down the gap with the sixth placed Virat Kohli to 11 points.
South Africa (111) continue to remain second in the team rankings and are trailing the top-ranked India (125) by 14 points while Bangladesh are at ninth with 72 points.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka have surpassed Pakistan to the sixth position following their 2-0 series whitewash in the United Arab Emirates.
