Marizanne Kapp took a hat-trick as South Africa Women beat Bangladesh Women by nine wickets in the second Twenty20 International in Potchefstroom.

The convincing win puts South Africa into an unassailable 2-0 series lead with one game remaining.

Kapp returned figures of four for six, first dismissing Fargana Hoque for four and then taking her hat-trick with the wickets of Rumana Ahmed (0), Ritu Moni (0) and Fahima Khutan (0).

Bangladesh could only set South Africa a target of 87, which the Proteas reached in the 17th over with Trisha Chetty unbeaten on 38 and Lizelle Lee hitting 37.

"Winning the series is a great way for us to start the season," Kapp said. "We haven’t played a lot of cricket together in the off-season so it was important for us to start this series off positively.

"Hopefully we can make it 3-0 tomorrow and move that momentum into the ODI series starting next week.

"I enjoyed my bowling today, I stuck to my plans and that really paid off for me," she added.

"I wasn’t really thinking about the hat-trick, my game plan was to bowl line and length and fortunately that plan came off."
