Kaur To Lead India Women Against Bangladesh
Harmanpreet Kaur has been named as captain of the India Women team and will lead the side in their upcoming series against Bangladesh Women.
Kaur replaces Mithali Raj, who had skippered India during the 2013 World Cup, and she will have Poonam Raut as her vice-captain.
Kaur has played 33 One-Day Internationals and 36 Twenty20 Internationals and scored her maiden ODI century against England during the World Cup.
The squad also shows a number of changes from the side that slumped to a seventh place in the World Cup. Raj, Amita Dass, Karuna Jain, Reema Malhotra, Sulakshana Naik, Rasnara Parwin and Gouher Sultana are omitted as Smriti Mandhana, Anagha Deshpande, Sneha Dipti, Archana Das, Poonam Yadav, Ritu Dhruv, Swagatika Rath and Sushma Varma are called up.
The two sides play three T20 Internationals and three ODIs between 2nd and 12th April.
