Kent have signed South African fast bowler Makhaya Ntini on a short-term deal to play as their overseas player for the next five weeks.
Ntini, 32, will play until late May when he will be replaced by Sri Lankan leg-spinner Malinga Bandara and he effectively replaces Australian bowler Stuart Clark, who was ruled out due to injury.
Ntini has played 100 Tests for South Africa and enjoyed a spell with Warwickshire in 2005.
Team director Paul Farbrace told the club's official website (www.kentccc.com): "I’m delighted to sign Makhaya. He's got a fantastic record and is a proven Test match seam bowler.
“He has got a tremendous work ethic and is a similar character to Stuart Clark. He will be a great asset to the dressing room and everyone is excited by his arrival."
