Kent have moved quickly to replace Stuart Clark as their overseas player with young South Africa left-arm quick Wayne Parnell.
Parnell made his international debut during the winter against Australia, playing four One Day Internationals and two Twenty20 Internationals in all.
Australian Clark was due to play for Kent before he was called up to Australia's ODI squad for the same series as a replacement for Brett Geeves. Clark went on to be named in the squad which is currently in the United Arab Emirates taking on Pakistan.
Parnell will join Kent for a six-week period.
Kent Chairman Graham Johnson was quoted on Kent's official website (www.kent-ccc.co.uk): “We’re delighted that Wayne has decided to come to Kent, particularly at such short notice.
“Graham Ford has seen him in action in recent weeks and believes he will do a fantastic job for us."
