Lancashire County Cricket Club recently hosted their Player of the Year Awards, with official footwear supplier New Balance handing out one of the many awards to be presented throughout the evening.

Liam Burns the European Business Development Manager for New Balance said, "We were extremely pleased to be presenting the award for the Champagne Moment of 2011 to Simon Kerrigan, who had a wonderful season with the ball and stands as an England hopeful."

Kerrigan received a unique personalised pair of New Balance trainers, embroidered with the award title and award winner’s name, along with the LCCC red rose logo.

LCCC finished the season off on a high by deservedly winning the County Championship for the first time in 77 years. In what was an extremely exciting penultimate match against Hampshire, LCCC won the match in the dying minutes with a crucial wicket being taken by Simon Kerrigan. There were only four minutes of the match remaining when the wicket was taken, Kerrigan claiming an impressive nine wickets for 51 runs

Simon Kerrigan commenting on his award said: "Such an honour to win the New Balance Champagne award in our championship winning season, love the shoes - thanks to everyone at New Balance for all their support, a truly unique prize, and made in the UK!"

Kerigan also made an impact on the Kingfisher Beer Cricket World MVP club ratings, where he ended the season in second place in the bowling rankings following a number of impressive performances for Ormskirk.
